HPAE's 2017 Lobby Day: Keep Hospitals Safe - Health Professionals & Allied Employees

HPAE’s 2017 Lobby Day: Keep Hospitals Safe

Nurses and health professionals will join together to Keep Hospitals Safe on Monday, February 27, at the Trenton Statehouse and demand Trenton fully fund hospital inspections and pass patient safety, worker protection laws. NJ’s Department of Health needs adequate funding and staff to properly and routinely inspect our State’s healthcare facilities. Regular public monitoring of NJ hospitals will track progress to improve patient safety, reduce errors, comply with standards and regulations, address previous violations, enforce safe staffing levels, and increase overall patients’ satisfaction.

Join us on February 27 at 8:30AM at the Statehouse Cafe, 125 W State St. Trenton, NJ on the 3rd floor. There will be a rally at 12 noon outside on the statehouse steps. Lobbying will take place throughout the day between 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

To stay safe on the road, the MVC inspects your car.  To keep healthy, you get a doctor’s check-up every year.  Yet, Governor Christie ended State inspections of New Jersey’s hospitals.  Without regular State inspections, patient safety is jeopardized and the quality of care provided at each New Jersey hospital is less transparent.

Failure to Enforce Safety and Health Protections

NJ’s Department of Health needs adequate funding and staff to properly and routinely inspect our State’s healthcare facilities.  It is equally important to make the results of all hospital inspections available to the people they serve.  Regular public monitoring of NJ hospitals will track progress to improve patient safety, reduce errors, comply with standards and regulations, address previous violations, enforce safe staffing levels, and increase overall patients’ satisfaction.

Act NOW.  Protect the rights and safety of all patients and healthcare providers.  Tell Trenton to fully-fund hospital inspections and Keep Hospitals Safe.
