Local 5058 AFT Convention Nomination Form

The Nominations/Election Committee announces that they are now accepting nominations to represent Local 5058 at this year’s AFT National Convention.  An explanation of the convention can be found below along with the nomination notice.  This has also been mailed to you home.

AFT National Convention

The Local is entitled to twelve (12) delegates and two (2) alternates based on the local’s membership.  This year’s convention will be held at David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 12^th – 16^th , 2018.  Local 5058 Constitution and By-Laws states that all elected local officers,  held via secret ballot election, are delegates to the convention and would be the ranking delegates.    Local 5058 will pay for two delegates to attend, up to $1,050 per  delegate, for travel and room expenses (room based on double occupancy) to the ranking delegates.  If a ranking delegate cannot attend, the next member receiving the highest number of votes will receive the money for travel as previously described.  All other expenses incurred by that delegate are their responsibility.  The remaining delegates and alternates may attend the convention, but will be responsible for all their own expenses.  The nomination/election committee is currently accepting nominations for these positions.
