Local 5138 HPAE State Convention Nomination Form

The Nominations/Election Committee announces that they are now accepting nominations to represent Local 5138 at this year’s HPAE State Convention.  An explanation of the convention can be found below and the procedure for nominations below that. You may nominate other local members as well as yourself.

HPAE State Convention

The Local is entitled to eleven (11) delegates and five (5) alternates based on their membership.  This year’s convention will be held in the Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey, October 5, 2018.  Local 5138 Constitution and By-Laws states that all elected local officers are delegates to the convention.  There are four (4) elected officers, which mean that seven (7) delegate positions and five (5) alternate positions are open for election.  All expenses are the responsibility of the delegate or alternate.  The Local will reimburse for two rooms, based on double occupancy, to the first members registering for the convention.  They will be reimbursed for that expense after attending the convention.   The nomination/election committee is currently accepting nominations for these positions.

POSITIONS: Seven (7) delegates and five (5) alternates to represent Local 5138

NOMINATIONS PROCEDURE: Attached you will find a Nomination/Declaration Statement.  Return completed form directly to a committee member or to HPAE Local 5138 Nominations/Elections, PO Box 119, Emerson, New Jersey, 07630.  The members receiving the highest number of votes will become delegates and the next highest number will be alternates based on the number of positions allowed.

NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: August 2, 2018

 ELECTION DATE: Ballots to be mailed to all members in August.  Candidates may be present for the mailing of the ballots.  Please advise the committee if you wish to be present at the mailing of the ballots. If it is an uncontested election, the committee will cast one ballot on behalf of the slate, in which case no ballots will be sent.

ELIGIBILITY: Any HPAE Local 5138 member in good standing is eligible to run for delegate.
