VNA Contract Update
Nurses who were formerly employed at Barnabas Home Health and who became part of VNA Healthcare Group of NJ effective January 1, 2016 are now part of our union! After a number of former Barnabas nurses signed union cards, our union received official recognition from the NJ State Board of Mediation. Now EVVNA, former Barnabas, and Englewood nurses can all work together to get the best contract possible for staff.
Negotiations for both the VNA of Englewood and VNA Healthcare Group of NJ, LLC (formerly Essex Valley VNA) continue. We have resolved a number of non-economic issues and presented management with an economic proposal on Tuesday, which included a 4% wage increase each year for 3 years, increases in the per visit rates, and reduced costs for employees for health insurance.
We have extended the contract several times to give us enough time to work through all of the issues. The contract is currently extended until March 31; and we have negotiations dates set for March 10 and March 15.
