We held our sixth negotiation session today.
Thank you to the MCH members who came to negotiations and expressed their concerns about staffing and professional standards at the Medical Center.
We presented our Staffing Proposal today.
We were met with rejections to virtually all of our proposals. They expressed their displeasure with our language proposals to increase professional standards at the Medical Center – while claiming the opposite, it is clear that they are not interested in a collaborative relationship. Rather than exploring improvements, they are afraid to make any commitments – because they are afraid that we will hold them accountable to their failure to live up to their commitments.
We return to the bargaining table on Thursday and look forward to having lunch with our Unit Communicators at 12:30.
Our Next Membership Meeting will be next Tuesday, May 15, 7:30 AM, 1 PM, 4 PM and 7:30 PM at the Clinton Inn. We will be giving an update on the status of negotiations and will likely be asking for authorization for sending a 10-day notice for concerted activity in the event that the Medical Center fails to address our concerns.
