Attached, please find a signed petition by members of HPAE Local 5004. The petition speaks for itself. Please take its meaning seriously. In addition, we urge you to consider HPAE’s proposal for COVID surge pay. Also, we expect the hospital’s management team to enter into productive discussions concerning the impending second wave of COVID, flu and the anticipated readmissions of discharged COVID patients who suffer the aftereffects of their diagnoses.

These discussions must start soon as it is abundantly clear that nurses will not be able to withstand, either physically or emotionally, another crisis.

Thank you,

Alice Barden
