HPAE Local 5112 Updates & Contract Survey
Every member should be aware that all on-site classes for BLS have been cancelled until further notice which will effect any member whose BLS Certification is due to expire at the end of 2020. HPAE and Union County have agreed to the following:
- All nurses whose BLS Certification expires before January 1, 2021 should take an online BLS course in order to maintain certification.
- Nurses will be reimbursed for the cost of the course after presenting proof of payment.
- Nurses should take online courses during working hours. In the event a nurse is unable to take the online course during working hours, they should get permission from their supervisor to take the course during non-working hours. Nurses who complete the course during non-working hours will be paid for their time to complete the course.
In addition, the contract between HPAE and Cornerstone c/o Union County expires December 31, 2020 therefore your local Bargaining Committee is requesting that every member complete a quick survey that will ensure that your issues are addressed in the upcoming negotiations.
