-skills fairs to be conducted 3 times a year; content to be posted to allow for staff input.
-skills fairs are not for new technology or procedures.
-attendance will be paid as a CE day; staff guaranteed time to attend at least one annually.
-annual competencies will be listed on intranet page prior to end of first quarter each year.
-quarterly competencies will be held for high-risk low volume procedures, as defined by divisional councils.
-no new procedure, protocol, technology, equipment, or medication will be implemented unless there has been a formal mechanism of education and validation.
-all employees will be guaranteed 3 days of paid elective continuing education.
-3.06 JNPC- allow more staff participation; minutes are to be presented to HPAE representatives in a timely fashion for review. A facilitator will be chosen to better the labor management process.
-5.09 Transfer and Promotion-changes to job posting, the employee must be notified. Placing timeframe on when employees who has a disciplinary record may apply for a transfer.
-8.01 Holiday Designation- clarify language that Christmas and immediately following New Year’s Day are to be considered in same year.
-.06 Vacation- ensure that no nurse can be approved for more time than they have accrued by the time of the requested vacation. Memorialize vacation formula, to ensure at least 1 FTE receives vacation per unit, per shift. Expand summer vacation period to week of Memorial Day to week of Labor Day. Rescinded vacation requests are to be removed from unit’s vacation grid.
-11.08 On-Call- Memorialize on-call shifts. On-call pay and call in rate shall be paid concurrently.
-11.11 Preceptors- change to differential payment of $2/hr.
-24 Successorship- strengthen language in event of EH acquisition.
-Schedule I Weekend Flex- allow for sick time benefit.
-Schedule G & H- Flex shifts to remain exclusively 10 hr. or 12 hr. shifts.
-Various Contract Clauses- propose data requests, contained in several clauses, are sent to HPAE timely.
-J1 Core Staffing- decrease staffing ratios. Propose no patients for charge nurses on all shifts.
-Wages- HPAE proposed a yearly raise of 4%, 3%, 3% respectively and retain step system. Nurses with 31 years or greater longevity proposal is the yearly cost of living increase and longevity bonus for FT, W/E flex, $1500. per year and PT $1100. per year. Per Diem wage proposal for weekends and holidays $53.00, $54.50, and $56.00
-12.11 & 12.12 Epidemic Pandemic Crisis- proposals to address process and premium compensation during a crisis.
2021 Negotiations will be a defining moment for our local. Each member has the responsibility for fostering change.
