Our local union has been working to bargain a new contract with Inspira since they took over ownership of our hospital. Our current contract is set to expire on May 31st. Our union negotiations committee has met with management several times to discuss and come to an agreement on key issues that will help our hospital with the retention and recruitment of staff. We have made significant progress, but wages, benefits and PTO are still open. We will meet with Inspira again on April 13th . We hope to have a complete agreement to share with members soon. Meetings will be held at the completion of negotiations for members to get details on the new contract, ask questions and vote to approve.
We are actively looking for nurses to be more involved with our local union and take on the role of rep for their unit. Having representation across the hospital makes us stronger. Reps assist with communicating issues forward and support other nurses through possible disciplinary proceedings. Please contact anyone from the bargaining committee if you’re interested in attending a virtual training to learn more.
Please fill out a membership form if you haven’t already done so by clicking on the link below. Signing a membership form is a condition of employment after you have been employed at the hospital for at least 100 days. It is also a requirement to have your form filled out if you want to attend any membership meetings and vote on a new contract.
