Healthcare Reform
HPAE believes that quality, affordable health care should be a right of all Americans. While the Affordable Care Act (ACA) needs to be improved, millions of Americans have gained health insurance and important consumer protections are now the law of the land, including the prohibition on insurance companies of using pre-existing conditions to prevent individuals from accessing affordable healthcare. Now, with a Republican-controlled Congress and the Trump administration determined to repeal the ACA and to make healthcare less affordable and accessible, HPAE, other unions, and community groups are fighting to save our healthcare benefits.
